Getting started
4 articles
Start here for wiki help, exploration planning and core game systems.
- Exploration field guideChoose a destination around the material or encounter you need. These guides connect the named regions of the overworld to ore deposits, crafting stations and creature records, so you can plan a trip and follow the materials back to your workshop.
- Memories and the Heart of OrbisThe Heart of Orbis is the game's Memories bench. Its observed Use interaction sets a Memories capacity of 48 and opens the Memories interface or the initial unlock screen, depending on the interaction's result.
- Using the HYTL WikiRead guides alongside live game records, follow their sources, and contribute through the website.
- World generation: V1 and V2Hytale's official world-generation guidance distinguishes the generator used when Exploration entered Early Access from the newer system being developed for Orbis. That distinction matters when comparing region guides or footage from different worlds.
Chapters & dungeons
2 articles
Chapter progression, the Goblin Lab and dungeon guides. Spoilers are marked.
- Chapter I: where to startFind the Goblin Lab, restore its power, and follow the chapter objectives. A separate spoiler guide covers lab upgrades and The Deepworks.
- Goblin Lab and Deepworks — spoilersRepair costs, Breach Console upgrades and the route to the Deepworks fragment, with contributor screenshots and current recipe components.
Zones & travel
5 articles
Explore the regions of Orbis and learn how to travel between destinations.
- Devastated LandsThe Devastated Lands contains Cinder Wastes and Charred Woodlands. They are distinct region records, with their own generated-resource lists and creature associations. The release files also reference copper- and iron-bearing stone in sewer-generation masks in both regions.
- Emerald WildsThe Emerald Wilds contains the named regions Seedling Woods and The Fens. Both are linked to copper- and iron-bearing stone in the release records. Their creature lists differ, making the region name more useful than searching only for “Zone 1”.
- Howling SandsThe Howling Sands includes Badlands and Desolate Basin. Thorium-bearing sandstone is associated with both regions in the release data. Hyenas also have recorded spawn associations with both, making them a useful creature record to check while planning a material-gathering trip.
- TeleportersTeleporters connect placed pads into a warp link. The current item description instructs you to place two, and the observed crafting recipe produces two teleporters per craft.
- Whisperfrost FrontiersBoreal Reach and The Everfrost are the two named inland regions in the Whisperfrost Frontiers release catalog. Cobalt-bearing slate has recorded generation references in both. The Black Wolf has a recorded association with Boreal Reach.
Crafting & building
4 articles
Workstations, processing recipes, food and furnishing projects.
- Building a tavern interiorA small tavern interior can start with a table, chairs, a candle and a bed. These selected Tavern items have separate recipes, and they do not all use the same workstation or wood form.
- Crafting an Iron SwordTrace the Iron Sword recipe through its metal and leather ingredients without mixing up finished materials and raw resources.
- Wheat and flourWheat farming and flour processing use different stations. Craft seed bags at the Farmer's Workbench; the observed Flour recipe belongs to the Chef's Stove's ingredient category.
- Workstations and processingCrafting is divided between stations. Build the station a recipe asks for, then check its tier requirement separately: owning a Workbench does not replace the Furnace, Blacksmith's Anvil or Tanning Rack.
Equipment & upgrades
4 articles
Weapons, backpack upgrades and keeping your equipment ready.
- Adamantite equipmentAdamantite Ore is processed into Adamantite Ingots before it is used by the sword recipe. Keep the ore-bearing block, its dropped resource and the finished ingot separate when following crafting requirements.
- Backpack upgradesBackpack upgrades increase a separate carrying capacity in steps. Crafting the upgrade item is followed by using that consumable; its configured interaction checks the previous capacity and sets the next one.
- Comparing metal sword recipesCopper, iron, thorium, cobalt and adamantite swords use different material combinations. Compare the full recipe before choosing a metal: leather grade, fabric scraps and weapon-bench tier can change alongside the ingots.
- Repair kitsThe standard Repair Kit repairs tools, weapons and armour. Its item description also warns that repaired items lose up to 10% of their maximum durability, so repair is a trade-off rather than a permanent reset to a new item.
Materials & gathering
6 articles
Find ores, collect hides and follow raw materials through processing.
- Copper and iron: from ore to ingotsCopper and iron pass through two different forms: an ore you gather and an ingot you process. Recipes for tools and benches commonly ask for the ingot, so carrying an ore stack does not yet satisfy that ingredient.
- Finding silverUse indexed ore and region records to plan a silver search while keeping generation evidence separate from probability.
- Leather from hidesDistinguish Light, Medium and Heavy Hide from processed leather, and follow the recorded sources and processing recipes.
- Medium Hide sourcesMedium Hide is a creature drop used before the leather-processing step. Bison, Boar, Cow, Horse and Warthog all list it in the observed release drop data; Black Wolf and Hyena provide further verified examples.
- Sturdy ChitinSturdy Chitin is listed in the drop records of several Scarak variants. The Defender, Fighter, Seeker and Louse are verified examples in the release catalog. Start with the material requirement, then choose a creature whose actual drop record contains it.
- Thorium and cobaltThorium and cobalt are separate material choices with different gathering routes. Thorium-bearing sandstone is recorded in Badlands and Desolate Basin; cobalt-bearing slate is recorded in Boreal Reach and The Everfrost, along with several Whisperfrost shore and shallow-ocean records.
Creatures & encounters
2 articles
Creature guides, recorded spawn regions and useful drops.
- Grizzly BearThe Grizzly Bear is a source of Heavy Hide and raw wildmeat in the release drop records. Heavy Hide is the raw material to follow when a recipe asks for Heavy Leather.
- Trork spawn locationsFind the recorded regions for Trork variants and distinguish a spawn reference from a guaranteed encounter.
